A slightly pink flushed large cooking apple that has a reputation for being very hardy here. Well worth growing if you are above 400ft elevation or in the north or west. Fabulous blossom!

A favourite of mine. Makes a delicious eater in Scotland. It’s not a true russet here, but tends to be nicely flushed red with a touch of russet. Good productive tree at Elcho Castle. Irish origin.
